But, I didn't stop there. I made Cream of Something Soup Mix, Taco Seasoning Mix, Dry Onion Soup Mix, Chocolate Cake Mix, Cornbread Mix, and Tortilla Mix. And, I have homemade pancake and muffin mix that I use all the time. Of course, I've never actually made homemade tortillas before. No excuses now: I have a mix! I need to figure out which type of containers I like best. If you go to the blogs with the original recipes you'll see all matchy and cute containers. Oh, well. I just gotta be me! I'll have to remember to tell all of you how these work out later. If you want copies of my recipes, just ask or go look at my pins on Pinterest.
These will be centerpieces on the tables at my Son's Eagle Court of Honor *Update: See how I re-used these same cans for a patriotic luncheon. The other night I was surfing around on the t.v. and ended up watching "Extreme Cheapskates." I found myself thinking, "Ohhh... what amateurs!" But, I couldn't tell anyone. I mean I didn't want anyone to know how "cheap" I actually am. I really think they set some people up on that show. I mean seriously?!? You share a toothbrush to save money? Buy 2 toothbrushes and each will last twice as long, same with the deodorant. Yuck! Anyway, there was this lady only wanting to spend $50 on her 10 year old son's birthday. Since I'm always looking for inexpensive ways to celebrate, I kept watching. What?!?! She had his birthday party at a retirement home for $30?!?! What about having it at your house or the park for free, hello people? Instead of the Elvis...
Yuck! The chocolate cake mix was bad. The cake turned out flat, hard, dry, and not very chocolaty. Good thing, I only made enough mix for 1 cake on that one.
ReplyDeleteI'm still tinkering with a Taco seasoning mix. Try Pioneer Woman's Tasty Kitchen website for more mix recipes. There are quite a few listed. I have a friend who makes her own deo as well.
ReplyDeleteI know Carley makes laundry detergent. If your recipe doesn't work well, get hers.
