Some of my Favorite Cards

My boys favorite Here are some of my favorite cards that I've made.  As you can tell, my style of card making is playful, fun, and a little quirky.  I'm really not that into the "pretty" or "natural" cards.  I guess that can be said about my life and house as well. This card is shaped and opens with by sliding with the brad in the left corner of the lips.  Kinda reminds me of the Dairy Queen logo.  I love it when things pop out on a card. These cards were for a challenge to add things not usually used on cards.  I loved it! For my FIL The inside of my FIL's card.

Craft Zone

My Craft Center/Room/Studio I'd been wanting/needing more storage space for all my craft supplies so I'd been looking but everything seemed so expensive.  (I try to craft on a budget.)  This weekend, I found a great shelving workstation on clearance, so Happy Birthday to me a little early.  It's hard to see in the picture but it's about 5 feet across, sits on my table and is taller than me.  Of course all my old craft storage is under the table and full.  (Not to mention the other side of the room!  LOL!) Now, I know many people who have just a crafting blog where they show step by step every craft they make.  Um... don't think I'll do that but I would like to share a few.  One of the things I have really enjoyed is making cards. Most of my cards are originals but I usually use a plain black and white sketch to get inspiration.  Here is one of my favorites cards.  Many years ago, like 20 or so, I raided an old soda machine for bottle caps and have been tr

The Skunk!

This actually happened last summer but we never wrote it down: Garrett's dog, Sweet Pea, has the unending need to hunt.  She has killed numerous critters in our yard from lizards to an armadillo.  But, there is one animal that keeps eluding her.  Oh, she's tried to catch the black kitty with the white stripe numerous times.  I don't remember the exact number of times she's been sprayed but it's in the double digits.  Last Spring, Sweet Pea was sprayed every couple of weeks.  Well, I was working at a restaurant as a waitress.  It was late, probably about 11:30 p.m. when I made my way home that evening.  I was actually having a pretty good night under the circumstances and came home playing my music loud and enjoying life.  I pulled into the driveway, got out of the car, and started be-bopping up the front steps....  Until, I almost stepped on a dead skunk left on the front porch.  I screamed and flew backwards off the porch.  Now what do I do?  I can't get ar

Oops! It's been 3 months

Wow!  I knew it had been awhile since I blogged but, I didn't realize it had been over 3 months.  Life just got busy and crazy and I sorta forgot to write.  I've always been this way.  When I was little I had a diary that had each day of the year marked for my comments and by the end of the year, I only had a few pages here and there filled out.  The next year, I asked for a diary where I could write my own date.  And, I think that one lasted throughout the remainder of my childhood. Of course, when life is busy is when I really should write.  That way I can remember all the many things that kept life busy and exciting. Well, if you're actually reading this blog, you probably already know and love me and understand.  I could promise to be better and write all the time but since I don't want to lie, I won't make that promise.  Until the next time, "Be excellent to each other and party on dude!"  (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) Garrett as Ted
